Tezpur Law College, established in 1972 is one of the best institutes of Legal Education in Assam. It is the fruit of the hand labour, untiring efforts and selfless service to the cause of legal education rendered by the legal luminaries and social visionaries of Tezpur, both of the past and present. We are grateful to them all.
Tezpur Law College has been conceived as a legal floor for those seeking to enter the legal fraternity The college is approved by the Bar Council of India and recognised by as well as permanently affiliated to the GauhatI University Being deeply committed to educational excellence in the field of Jurisprudence, the college has gained a well-earned reputation for the quality of its own, Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari, Hon'ble Judge the Gauhati High Court ,Hon'ble Chief Justice of Patna High Court(Retired),Chairman of Punjab Human Rights Commission is the pride product of Tezpur Law College as he is the star alumni of this premier law institution. In the recent results a number of students of Tezpur Law College have qualified for Assam Judicial Service.
Perched in between Darrang College and the Collegiate High School, Tezpur Law College is located at a place providing for perfect academic ambience. The college is a self-sustained entity having an eco-friendly campus and almost all the required infrastructure like well-equipped clan rooms, a well-stocked library with a suitable reading room a E-library, a modern Moot Court hall, Legal Aid Clinic cum Counseling Cell etc are the physical assets of Tezpur Law College, besides about a dozen highly qualified experienced and dedicated faculty members as the strength, true human resource and asset of the college. With their selfless service and devtion in duty of imparting law education to the students of the college we have been able to produce a number of law graduates who are adorning the coveted posts and positions in the Judiciary. Moreover the college has produced innumerable brilliant and successful lawyers.
